Upon receiving the project tender, DGC wanted to find both an efficient and effective process for approaching the installation. We came up with an innovative solution in designing a new kiln stud that could be stud welded onto the shell.
After various trials and testing conducted, we presented our designs to the client which was satisfied with the end result.
With the overall installation time being sped up by more than 50%, the project was a success leaving the clients exceptionally pleased with the outcome. DGC became the first company in South Africa to spearhead kiln stud welding and as a result of the success a multitude of refractory companies now use our same method. Since then, we have continued to lead the way in striving toward creating innovative solutions to bring our clients the best possible results. THE KILN STUD CONSISTS OF FOUR PARTS
BENEFITS:
Less downtime
Faster installation
Fewer consumables needed (no welding electrodes)
Consistent welding
Safer when it comes to inspection anchor not in an upright position during inspection (locking cap is installed before casting)
